Admonitor Submonitor MKIII

Capriccio Continuo (ATD) - Submonitor MK III
The Submonitor MKIII is the lower element of the Première/Admonitor 311 array.
This allows more accurate low frequency extension and headroom.
The Submonitor was designed to be integrated with the Admonitor Première/Admonitor 311 .
Visual impact has been optimised by the use of 3 pieces nanocarbon 165m drivers.Low frequency extension is the result of the EAARR ” Enhanced Active Auxilary Radiator Reflex” loading system.
The Submonitor is seamlessly integrated in the Admonitor Première/Admonitor 311 by the mutational “Transfer20Z” crossover technology.

Rather than beeing a generic subwoofer , the Submonitor 3 has been designed to blend seamlessly in the acoustic performance of the Admonitor Premiere/Admonitor 311 , transforming these mini-monitors in full scale reference 3.5 way systems .
The transition between upper and lower module has been designed in such a way as to increase naturally the radiating surface to the lowest frequencies .
The objective was not simply to have “more bass” but to have all the subjective advantages that the best reproduction of the quasi-infrasonic spectrum can bring ; more complete tonal accuracy ; better “hall” and ambience perception ; higher dynamic headroom and ease on crescendos .
The 3 special 165 mm Nanocarbon woofers , with the very powerful and fast motors , optimise the specific piston surface versus physical impact of the Submonitor .
The technical driver parameters allow a surprisingly extended low frequency reach, even if performance has been subjectively adjusted for optimal pace and drive.
The crossover on the Submonitor 3 has 2 overlap points one for the lowest notes at 45 Hz and one at 95 Hz, for crossing over to the Premiere/Admonitor 311.
The top of the woofers is mainly used to increase the radiating surface of the AGTi midwoofer, by working in tandem with it, while the 2 lower woofers only work on the lowest 2.5 octaves.
The EAARR loading system , “Enhanced Active Auxilary Radiator Reflex” substitutes the passive radiator of the previous Submonitor with the 2 lower 165 mm units, that drive the traditional port in the same enclosure, to extract the best low frequency extension in compact enclosures.

The Submonitor 3 improves on the performance by upgrading the vent solution towards a quasi-aperiodic “laminar flow” type .
This allows for a “faster”, better defined, reproduction of the lowest fundamentals. Also further the spurious noises, associated with airflow, are reduced.
Due to the complexity of low frequency room interactions, for optimisation purposes, it is possible to interface the Admonitor and Admonitor Preference in different ways to the Submonitor :
- Using the upper modules with the internal crossover ( high pass ) of the Submonitor.
- Using the upper modules in “Bi-Wiring” fashion, by driving the tweeter input separately.
- Using the upper and lower modules in passive “Bi-Amping”, by using a dedicated “termination dongle” on the Submonitor 3 satellite output.
- Using the upper and lower modules in active “Bi-Amping” , with a low level passive crossover ( soon to be released ).

Care should be taken in positioning the Submonitor 3 + Premiere/Admonitor 311 in the listening room.
Placing the units in the corners, except special cases, is not recommended.
It is preferred to have the systems at least 1 meter from the lateral walls and 0.5 meters from the back wall.
Help and advice from your dealer will be important.
