We tested out a gold acrylic paint with a brush on the panel. Then we realized that there were acrylic based spray paints available, so we went that route. Took us about half an hour to paint this panel, carefully making sure we filled in all the wells and the many faces of the panel.

Here are the panels mounted on the wall. We were pleasantly surprised at how smoothly the whole process went.

Acoustics: Acting as bass traps right behind the speakers are Vicoustic’s Wave Wood panels, which can also be used as a diffusion and absorption panel on walls. At the center of the wall are Vari Panels, which we used so we could tweak the absorption in the room if necessary. What you can’t see in this picture are the Cinema Rounds used to catch first reflections and a back wall of Poly Wood Fusers.

The grey squares on the wall on the right are Flexi Pol A50s. The white hexagonal ones are the Vixagon Premiums.

We are really loving the look of the Multifusor Wood 36, so much we used it on two walls (see the other one in its natural wood colour below). Though we haven’t had the chance to install these yet, we highly recommend the Multifuser DC2 diffusion panels as a less costly option. It’s been the most asked about (and best-selling) product at the moment.

Sitting in the left corner there is the Vari Bass. It’s a tunable bass trap, good for those hard to rid of low frequency issues in small rooms.
